"I have created this beautiful heart based, intuitive yoga fusion, from love. As a human being and Yogi, I would love to help you discover your truth, to help you manifest and live the best life you could possibly live"

With a yoga journey that has spanned the entirety of her lifetime, there is truly no-one more deeply connected to yoga than Premaloka. Raised in a household where her first gurus were her mother, father and aunt, a daily yoga practice has been a formative part of her life since before she could walk. Sun salutes as the sun rose with her father, nightly meditations as the sun set with her mother, Premaloka has always had an understanding of the way that the rituals of a yoga practice can change and enhance your life for the better.

Having discovered this passion at such an early age, Premaloka set out on a path to understanding the deepest roots of traditional yoga, with an aim to pass this knowledge on to all she could, and a desire to be able to use this knowledge to help people wherever they were on their healing journey. Premaloka studied yoga religiously. Her family raised her learning yoga through the Shivananda and Satyananda yoga lineage, and when she chose to study formally, she studied with Ashram Yoga in Auckland, under Swami Shanti Murti Saraswati, as they were aligned with Satyandanda yoga. She then began teaching, but her journey into the ways of yoga did not stop there, and continues to this day.

Premaloka in now a mother of 6, and has been intent on raising her children with these same practices and values that come with a life spent in yoga. In 2017, Premaloka moved to India with her family, understanding that there was no more authentic way to learn and understand traditional yoga practices than to do so in Mother India, the birthplace of yoga. She engrossed herself and her family in the culture, religion, and ways of the people of India.

In 2020, looking to connect deeply with a teacher in India to continue her learning journey, Premaloka contacted her present day teacher, Guruji Omanand, the head of Paramanda Yoga Institute of Sciences in Indor, India. Having already trained in yoga therapy at Ashram Yoga earlier in her career, it was here that she gained her international yoga therapy accreditation and certification through Guruji.

Premaloka now spends time in India every year, either running retreats or teacher trainings, or there alone to continue her yogic journey. She also runs yearly yoga retreats in India on the stunning cliffs of Varkala, and offers a Yoga Teacher Training in India for those looking to learn to teach in the birthplace of yoga.

"Yoga is a lifestyle and science, it creates union and harmony in the being, promotes optimal physical and mental health and helps the practitioner to live a life that resonates with love and awareness. Awareness of the impact on the world around them, awareness that life is love. This discovery leads to sustained happiness."

Premalokas classes employ her lifelong devotion to yoga as a lifestyle, medicine and art-form to truly transform the lives of those who attend. These intuitive, heart-based classes are designed to have a profound and beneficial impact on the mind, body and soul. In Premalokas classes, through a blend of Asana, Pranayama, meditation, breathwork and chanting, you will be given the opportunity to connect with your highest consciousness, guided from the heart to discover your truth. These classes develop strength and flexibility in the body, while opening the mind and heart to love and light in abundance.

Alongside Premalokas classes, retreats, workshops and Teacher Trainings, Premaloka offers yoga therapy, through which she is able to use all tools of yoga, including Ayurvedic medicine, to help to create a wellness program based around an individual’s needs. In this clinical approach to yoga and healing, Premaloka is able to deep dive into a person’s life history and use yoga as a medicine. She can. prescribe dietary requirements, Ayurvedic supplements, yoga postures, specific mudras and bhandas, specific breathwork and kriyas, all tailored to any specific ailment or injury that the individual may have, ranging from cancer to depression. She has been able to use this training in yoga therapy to fully enhance her practice and teacher trainings.

It was a phenomenal, shifting, strengthening, calming and extremely positive experience, one that is quite hard to describe. I am so happy to of discovered this type of yoga. It has only been in this particular yoga class that I've fully started to understand the extreme potential of yoga in the creation of a better world. Thanks Premaloka, for you and all that you do!"

  • "Having just returned from Premaloka's Yoga Retreat in India I am finding it rather hard to put into words how it was for me. The yoga was amazing and wonderful but not without its challenges - 3 times a day and the weather was hot - but challenges are good! The retreat was set high on a cliff top overlooking the Arabian Sea. Very wild and beautiful. The food was delicious and the people running the retreat were just lovely. We saw and did so much, the tuk tuk rides, visiting the orphanage, trip down the backwaters, massages, Auroville - every day was an adventure that was new and full of life and colour and noise that makes India the very special place it is. I signed up for this retreat without too much thinking about it and I am so glad I did. If I had thought about such things as maybe I won't be able to take the heat, maybe the yoga will be too much, maybe I won't be able to handle the poverty etc. etc. I would never have gone. And what a great shame that would have been because I can guarantee you will come back home and within a very short while you will be scheming as to how you can go again! It's that good - believe me! Thank you Prem for making it possible. With love, Morny."

  • "I went on Prems 2019 Awakened Heart retreat to India. Thanks Prem for organising such a beautiful retreat, if you love yoga there's no place like doing it in magical, vibrant Mother India. The retreat was a chance to step out of the busy lives we lead and reconnect with old friends and make new ones, to ground and connect with the daily yoga, mediation and yoga nidra sessions. I loved the pace and balance of each day, we spent 5 hours on the mat but it was spread out which also allowed time for relaxation, wandering, reflection and shopping. I also loved the trips to the local temples and the orphanage (where the retreat donates money to). Prems yoga is always transformational, authentic and ego less and even more so in India where she is clearly at home. I will definitively return!"
